Trainees Fabricate Embarcadero Garbage Trap
Six trainees of Eco-Trail Society/Tektone Global Technologies Foundation, Inc. Training Center are now fabricating the garbage trap of Embarcadero de Legazpi, an upscale water fount mall and business center soon to open in the city.
The trainees, Nestor Joel Absalon, Joel Arturo Armeņa, Randy Bergonio, Michael Cometa, Jedd Ebalde, and Celso Babasa Jr., began the project last January 9, 2009 under the supervision of Engr. Zernan Z. Serrano, lead trainer, and Dir. Fortunato Bosangit, Training Director.
When completed the garbage traps will keep the sea and river near Embarcadero clean and free of solid wastes.
The garbage traps use a proprietary technology that filters solid wastes of various sizes without damaging on clogging the water ways.
The trainees are participating in this project initiated by the Management of Embarcadero de Legazpi under the leadership of Mr. Randolph G. Zuņiga.
The Production of the garbage traps is part of the exposure of the trainees to actual welding works as part of the Work Experience Acquisition Program of the training center which will help them attain the work experience requirement needed for them to work abroad.
The trainees are scheduled to work in Malaysia sometime this year.
